UPDATE: August 10,2009... West Nile Virus has been detected in a Prosser, WA resident as well as 5 dead birds. The virus has also been detected in a dead crow in Mason County.

They are tiny, nocturnal and can withstand temperatures below freezing up to 113 degrees Fahrenheit. That paired with their ability to travel and hitchhike inconspicuously at a rapid rate makes them a hotel’s, apartment complex or housing authority’s worst nightmare.

Eden team member, Scott, stumbled upon this bizarre occurrence during a routine apartment inspection. After discovering a nest of Aphaenogaster ants (aka Funnel Ants) he then noticed a Carpenter Ant eating their larvae and stealing their nesting materials. Soon the Aphaenogaster ants began attacking the Carpenter Ant.
