Anyone who has ever had to deal with a bed bug infestation knows bed bugs are evil. They plague our dreams, suck our blood and multiply at the alarming rate of 10,000 babies every three months. They’re so evil that TIME.com gave them the number-one spot on its list of “Top 10 Evil Animals” – over rats, tapeworms, locusts and even humans.
What makes bed bugs so awful? That depends on whom you ask. Ask your local pest control company, for example, and we’ll tell you it’s because the little buggers are so hard to kill. They’re clever at hiding, resistant to pesticides and can live for months without feeding. The best bed bug pest control method we know of is to blast them with heat (120 degrees Fahrenheit or hotter) and send them back to Hades where they belong!
As a local pest control company, we don’t usually think of ourselves as on a mission to rid the world of evil. Mostly, pests just are what they are and do what they do. But when it comes to bed bug pest control, we’re willing to buy into the idea that these insects are evil. Here’s why:
They’re gluttonous. Although a single bed bug is no bigger than an apple seed, it has the capability to drink more than three times its body weight in blood.
They’re brutal. When bed bugs mate, the males actually puncture the abdomens of the females in order to fertilize the eggs.
They hide in your bed. Bed bugs violate our deepest sense of security by invading our beds – the place we’re most vulnerable.
A bed bug infestation is no joke. Contact your local pest control company at the first sign of an infestation – only a trained professional knows how to properly exorcise your home of this evil.
