Eden, DESC and the Holidays:

Eden Advanced Pest Technologies donates 36 hours of pest control service and 100 Holiday Gifts to Seattle’s Downtown Emergency Service Center.

December 3, 2009 – Eden Advanced Pest Technologies of Seattle is donating time, services and gifts this Holiday Season to the areas’ homeless population.

Every year, Eden decides on a charitable or non-profit organization to make a contribution to. For the 2009 Holiday Season, Eden’s Seattle region decided to focus their attention on Down Town Emergency Service Center (DESC) for the 2009 Holiday season and 2010 calendar year.

DESC is a shelter and service center for disabled and vulnerable homeless adults in the Pacific Northwest. They provide much needed services and resources to over 1,200 men and women.

Eden’s employees pooled together funds to contribute to DESC’s Holiday Gift Drive. The funds gathered afforded 100 gift bags, each comprised of a reusable grocery bag (donated by Madison Market), a pair of sport socks, a gift card for food, some chocolates, and a cup of instant soup. The gift bags were assembled and donated on Tuesday, December 1^st.

For the year of 2010, Eden Advanced Pest Technologies will be donating what it does best: pest management. Downtown Seattle buildings are easy targets for nuisance pests. Eden understands that non-profits like DESC have many costs in addition to pest management and in an effort to help DESC save money, Eden will be donating three man hours of environmentally friendly pest management services every month.

“For at least the next year we will be donating service each month to DESC.  We really believe in what DESC is doing and want to support their efforts in any way we can.” Said Cody Pace, IPM Consultant for Eden Advanced Pest Technologies.
